Dark electro and industrial duo Siva Six, formed in Athens and now working out of Leipzig, have assembled a film to celebrate twenty years as a band. Called “20 Years Siva Six – fraters and sorors edition,” it spans 2005 through 2025 and comes from an act that has been signed to Alfa Matrix since 2010.

The duo’s Alfa Matrix back catalogue can be found in the store, with the album “DeathCult” and its predecessor “Dawn Of Days” both available on CD. “DeathCult” can also be streamed in full on Bandcamp.

What the anniversary film covers

Running a little over ten minutes, the video traces the band’s two decades by combining the duo’s own archive footage with input from friends and colleagues who shared their tours and studio sessions. Production is credited to Artstinks.com.

A thank-you from the band

Announcing this “fraters and sorors” cut, Siva Six thanked everybody who took part: crew members, friends, fans, and the acts they have performed alongside. Their message closed with the words “we love you all.”

About Siva Six

The story starts with Wintermute, a band Z fronted from 1997 alongside keyboardists Evi and Noid. It put out two demo CDs and recorded a cover of The Cure’s “Pornography” for the homage album “15 Imaginary Songs – A Tribute To The Cure.” After Evi stepped away, Z and Noid carried on and returned in the 2000s as Siva Six. The current line-up is Z (Georgios “George” Tamvakologos) on vocals and Yuri Blavatsky on keyboards.

Debut album “Rise New Flesh” arrived in 2005 on the Italian label Decadance Records, with “Black Will” following a year later, and both supplied the scene with club favourites. Since signing to Alfa Matrix, the discography has grown with third album “The Twin Moons” (2011), the “Superstition” EP (2013), fourth album “Dawn of Days” (2016), the 17-track digital remix album “nyx” (2018), the single “Ghost Dance” plus fifth album “DeathCult” (both 2021) and the digital EP “Fight the Machine” (2023), which came with its own video.

Clips for “Club Macabre” and “Superstition” stretched the “DeathCult” cycle further, and when Advoxya Records reissued a remastered “Black Will” in 2022, the band used the moment to premiere a video for “Heart of The Master” that had sat unreleased for 13 years. Altogether Siva Six have appeared on over forty compilations, been part of more than sixty remixes made by and for other artists, and played in at least nineteen countries, with Type O Negative, Front 242, Die Krupps and Hocico among the acts they have shared bills with.

Personnel has changed over time: Wintermute began as Z with Evi and Noid, a long stretch as a duo with keyboardist U-Ri / Herr Khaos followed, and Yuri Blavatsky now completes the pairing. More on the band is gathered on the Siva Six tag page, while the wider label roster lives on the Alfa Matrix Bandcamp.
