“Welcome To Weimar America” is the seventh studio album from Avarice In Audio, the Australian dark electro duo of Gerry Hawkins and Lawrie B. Alfa Matrix issued the 12-track digital set on 11 September 2026, and it moves the band closer to industrial rock, elektro-metal and material led by guitars.
The album is available now on the Alfa Matrix store as a digital edition, and it is also on Bandcamp.
Heavier, harsher and guitar-led
The label’s own verdict is that this is the duo’s “most extreme, abrasive and deliberately uncomfortable” album to date, with the earlier dark synth-pop, harsh elektro and EBM approach left behind.
Long-time collaborator Static Logic returns for “Let The Boreal Burn (v.2026),” a 2026 rework, and the closing number is the duo’s own remix of “Bareback In Babylon.” Kallisti Design made the artwork.

The releases leading up to it
The new record is the pair’s first full-length since “Tear Heaven In Half” (October 2024), a 17-track Alfa Matrix album that drew on hard rock, techno and Drum ’n’ Bass, with Studio-X and Canada’s Virtual Terrorist among the guests next to Static Logic. Two smaller releases came first that year: the single “Wicked Die Alone” in February and the EP “Drowning One” in September. Hawkins has described “Tear Heaven In Half” as heavier in its first half and softer, with a futurepop lean, in its second.
