As part of Alfa Matrix’s 25th anniversary celebrations, we are digging deep into our catalogue to resurrect a selection of essential releases that helped shape the label’s history. Alfa Matrix Essentials brings these milestones to vinyl for the very first time – strictly limited, specially designed and destined to become collector’s items.
Originally released in 2007, “Last Crusades” was a milestone for both STAR INDUSTRY and Alfa Matrix: it was the very first album released by the Belgian gothic rock powerhouse on our label.
Combining their trademark dark, melodic gothic rock with electronic and industrial elements, the album firmly established STAR INDUSTRY as one of Belgium’s leading gothic rock exports. Their sound draws on the legacy of THE SISTERS OF MERCY, THE MISSION and FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM while remaining unmistakably their own, with classic tracks such as “Lost Generation” and “Last Crusades.”
Driven by powerful guitars, dark synth lines, infectious melodies and Peter Beckers’ instantly recognisable vocals, “Last Crusades” remains a defining chapter in the STAR INDUSTRY story – an album that perfectly bridges the atmosphere of classic gothic rock with a more modern electronic edge.
Now, almost twenty years after its original release, “Last Crusades” finally gets the vinyl edition it never had. Featuring stunning artwork specifically adapted and designed for the LP format, this very first vinyl pressing is strictly limited to 500 copies worldwide.
And the timing couldn’t be better: STAR INDUSTRY are currently putting the finishing touches to their long-awaited new studio album, scheduled for March 2027.
