Implant readies ‘The Kinematics Of Doubt’ on Alfa Matrix

Implant – artwork for ‘The Kinematics Of Doubt’ (Alfa Matrix, 2026)

Thirty years after Len Lemeire launched Implant in Belgium, the electro-industrial project is readying its fifteenth studio album, “The Kinematics Of Doubt.” Alfa Matrix will release the fourteen-track set on CD and digitally on 30 October 2026, and it is also sold in a bundle with fresh albums from Llumen and C-Lekktor.

The CD can be pre-ordered in the Alfa Matrix store or as part of the three-album bundle, and the album is also on Bandcamp. Lead single “Underneath The Neon Lights” is already on Spotify.

Doubt as movement

Lemeire took the album’s name from physics, where kinematics describes how things move without asking what pushes them. According to the label, the record treats doubt as motion rather than hesitation, across songs about control, surveillance, obsession and identity. “Underneath The Neon Lights” supplies the dancefloor pulse, “I’m Only Happy When You Bleed” rides a 3/4 rhythm, “Pills,” “Framed” and “Sanity” hit harder as straight EBM, and “Civilization,” “Talking In Your Sleep” and the closing “Wounds” slow things down.

A shared launch night with Llumen

The evening of 20 November 2026 belongs to two bands: Implant and Llumen launch their albums together at Belgium’s mOtown (Sint-Joost-ten-Node). They teamed up like this once before, in Antwerp in October 2021. For the other half of the night, see the Llumen “Winter Eden” announcement.

About Implant

Len Lemeire started Implant in Belgium in 1996. The first release, the CD single “Fun”, credits him together with Geert Machtelinck and came in a numbered run of 1,000 copies. Its sound rests on EBM sequences that never let up and on physical electronics, with the catchphrase “did you have your Implant today?” as a calling card. The catalogue ranges from harsh EBM via industrial dance and electro-pop to dark synth, including “Audio Blender” and “Implantology”, the EP “Fading Away” and the album “The Productive Citizen”.

A free download, “The Drive”, appeared in December 2023, and the twelfth album, “The Chaos Machines Part 1 – No More Flies On The Windscreen”, followed in May 2024 with a modular-synth approach and a duet with Noemi Aurora. Part two, the limited vinyl EP “Scratching The Surface”, came in September 2024, and the trilogy ended on 7 February 2025 with the ten-track “Judging Sinners”, which features Noemi Aurora again. Alfa Matrix describes “The Kinematics Of Doubt” as the first release since 2024 that was conceived outside that trilogy.
