Patrick Knoch’s Elektrostaub project has a third album out on Alfa Matrix. “Humility” comes as a 12-track CD and as a digital release, and it follows the pattern of the earlier records: Knoch writes and produces, and every song is built around a guest vocalist. The mood sits between electro wave, synth pop and future pop.

Two songs that surfaced as singles beforehand, “Falling” and “Too Far From The Pack”, have videos, and both are embedded below the player.

The CD is available now on the Alfa Matrix store, while the digital edition is listed on the label’s Bandcamp page.

Who sings on “Humility”

The cast of guests is international. Echo Image are a Norwegian synth project, J:Dead is a British artist, Beyond Border a German duo, and Salva Maine belongs to the Spanish act Culture Kultür. Other contributors include Richard Bjørklund (Spektralized), Lis van den Akker, Mel Gúntzelsson (Future Trail / davaNtage), Lilli K. Engelhardt, René Anke (Logic & Olivia) and Alex Braun.

How the earlier singles fit in

Back in 2025 the digital “Falling” EP and the “Too Far From The Pack” EP both carried “Falling”, which features Pal Magnus Rybom of Echo Image. “Too Far From The Pack” itself, the title track of the latter and a song with Salva Maine, returns on the album in two forms: the standard mix and an alternate take with female vocals from Lilli K. Engelhardt.

About Elektrostaub

Working from the northern part of Germany’s Ruhr area, Patrick Knoch launched Elektrostaub in 2007 as an electro-pop and future-pop outlet. He handles composition and programming himself and invites a different set of singers for each release.

Early records appeared on Echozone, a German label, and included several collaborative singles. The same label put out the debut album “Birthday And Death” on 17 November 2017, preceded by the harder, EBM-leaning “Funeral Of Love” with Ruined Conflict and Nordika, plus “Unforgotten” with Henrik Iversen and “Also Without You” with Anne Goldacker. After the move to Alfa Matrix, that early material was reissued, so the Belgian label now offers the complete back catalogue once more.

The second album, “Reliance”, followed in December 2021 on Alfa Matrix, in CD and digital form. Its guests included Claudia Uhle (X-Perience), Darrin Huss of Psyche, Stefan Netschio from Beborn Beton and Vanguard / Uncreated’s Patrik Hansson.

In between the albums came EPs and singles. The first Alfa Matrix release was “Wake Up” in 2020, followed in 2021 by “We Are Dreamers” with Patrik Hansson (Vanguard / Uncreated). Later EPs on the label included reworkings of debut-album songs as well as one-off singles and team-ups, and the 2025 pair mentioned above preceded the new album. More on the project is collected in the Elektrostaub archive.
