After some ear-catching compilation appearances and a majestic collaboration with 808 DOT POP on the “Cubic Temperature” album, the time has come for Franky Deblomme to launch the first release with his new project CUBIC and reveal his artistic concept around the alphabet by unveiling the first sonic letters that will help you start decoding CUBIC’s wide electronic spectrum.
With CUBIC, our Belgian veteran artist distils decades of highly eclectic electronic music influences ranging from vintage Düsseldorf synth to Berlin techno through the 90’s Manchester madness, EBM and the typical Belgian club sound style. Armed with influential references as diverse as LEFTFIELD, ORBITAL, UNDERWORLD, EXTRAWELT, LFO, D3R, 808STATE or yet GUS GUS, CUBIC offers you the ultimate electronic journey fully conceived and recorded in his “Bong 13” studio, using only hardware synths and effects… “An addiction that cannot be replaced by software synths”, adds Franky Deblomme.
“Alphabet Hymn” gives the first tone of what can be expected from CUBIC: typical Belgian after-club sound lead by a captivating female voice, fascinating multi-layered electro pop, hypnotic dance tunes with a melodic Ibiza touch or yet pure electro tracks built around Düsseldorf percussion, 808 kick and a good old wet bassline.
This 5-track EP also features a remix by label mates 808 DOT POP who added a sort of classic early 80’s house touch to the song “F” before giving it a more EBM vibe mixed with the characteristic style of Passenger S.
