Los Angeles industrial/EBM band Frontal Boundary have a new digital EP out through Alfa Matrix. Titled “Alone,” the eight-track release arrived on 11 September 2026 and is the first piece of music tied to the group’s upcoming album, “Shattered Mind.”

The EP is available now on the Alfa Matrix store as a digital release, and a full stream is on Bandcamp.

A more vulnerable side of the band

The title song deals with isolation and grief. Compared with the band’s usual dark-electro attack, it relies more on melody and sounds more openly emotional.

A cover, an alternate take and five remixes

Besides the original song and a second version of it, the EP includes a cover of Garbage’s “Milk” that features Kimber Parrish. Five other acts then rework “Alone”:

  • Assemblage 23 contributes an atmospheric take.
  • Protokoll 19 and Reaper supply heavier-hitting electronic mixes.
  • Asphodel Ivory and The Axiom Divide go for more experimental interpretations.

About Frontal Boundary

Brendin Ross, previously of Bile, Dawn Of Ashes and Bornless Fire, started Frontal Boundary in Los Angeles in 2008. Singer Krz Souls, who also comes from Dawn Of Ashes and Bornless Fire, arrived in 2019, and Jaysen Craves of Livernois joined on synths as a full member in 2023.

Alfa Matrix is the band’s newest home. The signing was marked in July 2025 by the “Hate” EP, followed that September by the eight-track “Faith” EP. The album “Failure” landed on 12 December 2025 as a download and a limited 2CD, and the seven-track “Burn” EP, which features a Filter cover (“Hey Man Nice Shot”), wrapped up that cycle on 24 April 2026. “Alone” begins the “Shattered Mind” phase, which is headed toward the group’s fifth full-length.

Earlier on, a 2023 deal with Re:Mission Entertainment brought the singles “Shutting Down” and “Without A Chance” plus an album, “Shutting Down,” on 27 September 2024. The “Hollow” EP with Unter Null (March 2025) and the remix set “Shutting Down Remixed” (April 2025) came afterwards. Further back sit the 2009 demo “Never Ending” and the track “Mindfuck,” the albums “Electronic Warfare” (6 January 2012, reissued in 2013 as “Electronic Warfare V.2”) and “The Fall” (19 March 2021), and tour dates alongside God Module and Suicide Commando. The rest of the label’s roster is on the Alfa Matrix Bandcamp.
