Frontal Boundary, the Los Angeles industrial and EBM trio, have issued a seven-track EP called “Burn” on Alfa Matrix. The digital release landed on 24 April 2026 and gives “Burn” a life of its own: the song first showed up on the band’s recent album, “Failure”, which Alfa Matrix put out as a 2CD set.

For reference, the “Failure” album is embedded below as well.

The EP is available now on the Alfa Matrix store, and it can be streamed on Bandcamp.

What’s on “Burn”

The release collects the original “Burn”, a cover of Filter’s “Hey Man Nice Shot”, and two alternate takes that bring in S. L. on guitar. Three remixes complete the seven tracks, from Contracult, Livernois and Miseria Ultima, who are also on the Alfa Matrix roster.

Closing the “Failure” chapter

The band describes the EP as “the final strike”, and it ties in with the idea of rebuilding after destruction. “Burn” is built on one of the central songs of “Failure”, which came out on 12 December 2025 as a download and as a 2CD. The themes behind the record were discussed in an earlier interview with the band.

About Frontal Boundary

Los Angeles is home to Frontal Boundary, an American project formed by Brendin Ross, Krz Souls and Jaysen Craves. Ross founded it in 2008 and began releasing music in 2010. He later restarted it as a studio act with Krz Souls, and Craves became a full creative member once the band returned to the stage in 2023.

The first album, “Electronic Warfare”, came out on 6 January 2012, and “The Fall” followed on 19 March 2021. After signing with Re:Mission Entertainment, the band put out “Without a Chance” and “Shutting Down” as singles and then the album “Shutting Down” (27 September 2024).

In March 2025 came “Hollow”, released together with Unter Null, and April brought the 11-track remix collection “Shutting Down Remixed”. Alfa Matrix signed the band later in 2025, beginning with the single “Hate” and then the eight-track “Faith” EP in September. “Failure” then arrived in December, and “Burn” rounds off that run. More news on the band is collected in the Frontal Boundary archive.
