Description
Here comes the first release from LEDERMAN / DE MEYER, the amazing and unexpected artistic fusion of two prominent figures from the cult Belgian electronic music scene.
Jean-Marc Lederman (THE WEATHERMEN, KID MONTANA, FAD GADGET, GENE LOVES JEZEBEL, etc.) writes raspy, melodious electronic song arrangements which appear to be the perfect fertile ground allowing Jean-Luc De Meyer’s (singer of FRONT 242, UNDERVIEWER, 32CRASH, etc.) dense and inhabited voice to unfold across different registers going from pure icebreakers to boiling volcanoes.
The dark, oppressive and danceable title song “A Tribe Of My Own” instantly sets the bar very high beautifully showcasing one of the most favorite and characteristic voices in the EBM-industrial music scene. And label-mate Sebastian Komor (KOMOR KOMMANDO, ZOMBIE GIRL, ICON OF COIL, etc.) even reinforces the straight club power of the song.
Comes then a quite surprising lush cover version of FAD GADGET’s classic “Back To Nature” in a nice modern future pop remake by EDGE OF DAWN, while the wonderful duo of COLDKILL deliver a poignant darkwave industrial remix of this 80’s classic.
Last but not least, LEDERMAN / DE MEYER reveal a 3rd song with “Dots, Circles And Lines”, a more sarcastic introspective song in a big beatz remix version by Mister Rob Dust known for his cult remix work for bands like JOACHIM WITT, ALPHAVILLE, CAMOUFLAGE, etc.).
A straight and eclectic electro 5-tracker absolutely wetting our appetite for more and making us all looking forward to the announced forthcoming release of LEDERMAN / DE MEYER’s “Eleven Grinding Songs” album…
