Oslo-based duo Kant Kino have released a new double album, “Echoes of The End,” through Alfa Matrix on 12 June 2026. It is the Norwegian electronic act’s first full-length since “Kopfkino” in 2017, and it comes both as a digital deluxe edition and as a physical 2CD.

“Echoes of The End” is available now on the Alfa Matrix store as a 2CD, and the digital deluxe edition can be heard and bought on Bandcamp.

Two discs, 24 tracks and four early singles

The set stretches across two discs and 24 tracks. Four of them were put out ahead of the album: “Rodney,” “Defeat,” “The End” and “Lie.” With nine years since “Kopfkino”, this is the duo’s first complete album in a long while.

How the ‘Rodney’ EP set the stage

In February 2026 the band had already returned with “Rodney: End-State Variations”, an EP that couples an edit of “Rodney” with six remixes, seven tracks in total. The band presents that song as a look at how personal ties and societal structures slide toward a final state, emotionally as much as structurally. The EP can be played below, and it is also on Bandcamp and the usual streaming and download services.

About Kant Kino

Kant Kino are Lars Henrik Madsen and Kenneth Fredstie, an electronic duo based in Oslo. A tribute track written for the ElektroStat festival started the partnership, and a slot on a Bunkertracks compilation paved the way to Alfa Matrix. The debut album “We Are Kant Kino – You Are Not” dates from 2010, and “Father Worked In Industry” followed in 2013, with Claus Larsen of Leæther Strip handling mixing and mastering.

Alfa Matrix issued “Kopfkino” on 13 January 2017, shortly after the pair had self-released a Motörhead–Kraftwerk mash-up titled “We Are The Roadcrew (Robots).” That May the label’s first Matrix:Reb00ted volume was assembled from Kant Kino remixes.

Other credits include the 2018 collaboration EP “Silent Morning” with Coldkill, a Depeche Mode cover released in 2019, a self-released demo in 2022, remixes for Modulo One and for the Side-Line charity single “Ukraina,” and edits for the Face The Beat series, whose third session Fredstie mastered. After returning in February 2026 with the “Rodney” EP, the duo now present “Echoes of The End”; more from the label sits on the Alfa Matrix Bandcamp.
