Our STUDIO-X vs. SIMON CARTER dancefloor hit-makers used the global lock-down situation as an opportunity to distill this amazing new 11-track EP!

First of all selecting the most played and acclaimed songs from their recent “Disconnected” album with a clear preference for the more melodic driven tunes and giving them a full frontal club dimension. The powerful and unmatched emotional heartbreak-hypnotizing pearl “Our Promise” was an obvious choice as main title song for this new EP release since it has become one of the biggest techno club hits of the band. This song also gets featured here in its original version with vocoder male vocals plus a gorgeous dream version.

This dancefloor EP also pretty much sets the focus on the album’s stunning female fronted songs, most of them revealing the mesmerising vocal talents of diva Bridgette Collins infused with huge techno elements and EDM stabs. A cutting-edge sonic journey mixing hard-hitting industrial-techno assaults with angelic female vox and more moody melodic technoid analogue synth cuts.

And icing on the cake, during their recent prolific studio sessions, both hard dance DJ’s Simon Carter (UK) and Lawrie Masson/STUDIO-X (Australia) did not just deliver remixes of tracks like “Our Promise”, “Choices”, “I’m Alive”, “Disconnected”, “The Only One” and “Stronger” (featuring Trix on vocals), they also inked 3 brand new tracks with the hard-hitting and catchy vocoded “You Will See”, but also “Solar Flare” with Bridgette behind the mic again for a fully addictive fast-paced hi-energy slammer while she reveals her darker side on the highly emotional and shimmering song “Lost At Sea” and its overall bombastic piano-based echoing arrangements crashing onto exploding break beats.

STUDIO-X vs. SIMON CARTER once again reinvented their own sound and songs to get you dancing “Until The End Of Time”… Enjoy at maximum volume!

While UK DJ Simon D. Carter is releasing the “Lost In Time” debut-album of his new exciting dance pop solo-project SD-KRTR, he also prepared us an amazing collection of retro wave remixes of some 24 songs selected from his own repertoire across his various projects.

Wow! Here we get to experience no less than 24 tracks, completely remixed and transformed from their original electro / dance / industrial form into what can only be described as a magical musical tour of Retro Electro 80‘s sounds and Synthwave music.

Inspired by the recent resurgence in 80’s inspired Synthwave sounds emanating from instrumental themes for such hit tv shows such as Netflix’s Stranger Things, here we hear similar sounds accompanied by catchy and thought-stirring vocals – Some in vocoder form, others clean and clear and a variety of male, female and even some vocaloid vocals.

Some fan favourites are amongst the tracks getting the remix treatment, not least ‘Gone ‘Together Again’’, ‘Reasons’, ‘Love Changes Everything’ and ‘Stronger’. You will love the upbeat sound and energy in tracks such as ‘The Future’ (it really is so dreamy!) and ‘Return to Eternity’ where the original spoken vocals resonate throughout the track accompanied by lovely 80’s drums and synths. Also worthy of mention is ‘Cry’ where in its original form is a slow melancholic track yet in this remixed state sounds positively bubbly and optimistic. While tracks such as ‘Particles of Love’ and ‘Don’t Let Go’ now contain an even more uncanny sci-fi sound again paying homage to their original incarnations.

This album breathes fresh, new life into some already delightful tracks offering a wonderful alternative to their original form and allowing us to hear some STUDIO-X vs. SIMON CARTER and SD-KRTR tracks in a retro state.

To really appreciate and for the truly immersive synth listening experience, headphones are fully recommended!

Back in March 2017, UK techno/breakbeat DJ Simon D. Carter unleashed SD-KRTR – His new exciting solo-project with the successful club hit “Rise” EP. Today, our studio guru and worldwide renowned club song producer is proudly revealing his full length album “Lost In Time”, teaming up with half-a-dozen high-profile female vocalists who give soul to his thought stirring lyrics…Coming from quite diverse horizons, these Diva’s are magically providing a soul to Simon’s machines, offering a futuristic cocktail of modern dancefloor techno trance with an emotional alt-pop touch and a slightly melancholic edge.

This debut album offers you a timeless journey through sound taking you from catchy upbeat energetic synthpop songs (“The Only One”, “Looking At You”, “The Girl From The Station”) to poignant heartfelt slower tracks with some breakbeat and disco elements (“A thought Lost in Time”, “Don’t Go”, “You’ll Never Stray”, “Cry”). But SD-KRTR of course also stands for club-friendly dance-floor slammers with catchy choruses and these are duly delivered courtesy of outright club hits such as “Rise”, “Eternity” and “Dreams”. We also notice the “Naphill Atrebas” intermezzo’s which reinforce the sound diversity of this opus, a series of trance instrumental powerhouse tracks nicely fusing some stunning melodic piano-driven breakdowns with exploding blissful dance synths and sensual beats and rhythms.

With his SD-KRTR project, Simon D. Carter is truly breaking new ground, writing slightly more commercial and pop-esque songs than he ever has so far, whilst still very much remaining electro based and hard driven. An album particularly recommended for open-minded fans of synthpop and dance/trance who will surely enjoy this cocktail of edgy modern electronics, alluring catchy female vocals and emotional catchiness.

So lay back, close your eyes and enjoy the journey that SD-KRTR takes you on, OR just let it all go, stand-up and throw your hands up in the air and just get “Lost In Time”…

After a bunch of strong hardbeat releases together with his Australian pal of STUDIO-X, UK techno/breakbeat DJ Simon D. Carter today unleashes the first ep of his new exciting solo-project. With SD-KRTR, the studio guru and worldwide renowned club song producer teams up with some high-profile female vocalists coming from quite diverse horizons. He then fuses their highly expressive vocals into a futuristic cocktail of modern dancefloor techno trance with an emotional alt-pop touch and a slightly melancholic edge. It’s like these Diva’s are magically providing a soul to his machines, they certainly give soul to his thought stirring lyrics…

“Rise”, the title-song of this new 5-track EP is absolutely the perfect example of this! A cleverly constructed fist-pumping dancefloor slammer which contains all the explosive elements of an uplifting modern trance track augmented with dark undertones and powerful, emotive, heart-felt vocals courtesy of HELALYN FLOWERS leading lady, n0emi Aurora. A song with an infectious chorus that infiltrates your mind in no time and has you singing along whilst jumping on the dancefloor! This instant club-hit also gets released as an entirely different “Retro Version” giving more space to 80’s synths and drums, while Brazilian label-mates AESTHETISCHE have crafted a typically classy dance remix of “Rise” displaying their wonderful signature sound in full force!

We then also get an almost 9 minute long instrumental monster “Judgement Day”, a throwback to the 90’s style of epic-length upbeat electronic instrumental tracks. And the cherry on the cake, the fast-paced and hi-energy “The Only One”, a futuristic sounding synthpop song (featuring Patricia on vocals) that wouldn’t be completely out of place on a LA ROUX album!

So lay back, close your eyes and enjoy the journey that SD-KRTR takes you on, OR just let it all go, stand-up and throw your hands up in the air! ‘We Will Rise From The Fall’…

Sometimes I wonder whether these studio freaks ever sleep?! UK DJ Simon Carter and his Australian partner in crime Lawrie Masson of STUDIO-X hit the dancefloor again with another extended 12-track EP offering us no less than 10 previously unreleased brand new tracks!

“Sunrise” is probably the most commercial sounding song from their “Ad Astra Volantis” album. Full of passion and melancholy, this song is catchy as hell, and its new extended and faster club edit makes it the perfect version to spin in a dark electronic music set. And the duo continues their dancey pop approach with “I Love You (So Deeply Completely)” and the gorgeous guest vocals of A2B2 whose voice perfectly fits this synth pop anthem’s fashionable chorus. Catchiness seems to be the red-line of this release with the vocaloid vocals of “On The Other Side”, a lush dancefloor track that loops in more than one way; or yet with the charming tingles and bells of the commercial vocoder track “The Sound Of Love”.

And it’s exactly when we start thinking that STUDIO-X vs. SIMON CARTER decided to go for a sunny dance pop release, especially with happy songs like the full on “hands in the air” à la Tomorrow Land “Summers Day” upbeat anthem, that they hit us straight in the face with more aggressive sounding tracks like the robotic dark dance cut “A New Dawn”, the grooving and party jumping new club hit “Matrix Of The Mind” and its BENNY BENASSI-style saws and bass-lines or yet the new dancefloor favorite “Move On” whose heavy drop and harsh basslines will resonate through the listener’s body! “Return To Eternity” is also another exceedingly furious upbeat cut mixing catchy dance and other vocaloid vocals, making it sound like what the cool kids wish EDM would sound like!

Last but not least, the duo also brings us on a “Moonlight Reverie” with a rather “oldskool” up-tempo drumstep track containing vocoder vocals, akin to MIND.IN.A.BOX; before perfectly finishing off this “Sunrise” EP with the epic and slower song “Children Of The Night” with its potent message to the world and the powers that be: “We are the children of the night, We strike at the heart of humanity’s spite”…

Another 12-track EP by STUDIO-X vs. SIMON CARTER which is another great example of how genres mean nothing to this controversially and diverse duo who enjoy challenging electronic music fans with their free-from-barriers and boundaries, upbeat, EDM-esque sounding music… Whether you like psy-trance, techno-house, synth pop or EBM industrial, this band has something for you to dance to!

Whilst their second album “Ad Astra Volantis” is still shaking the techno and industrial dancefloors across the universe and other star systems, the cutting-edge duo of STUDIO-X vs. Simon Carter decided to thank their ever-growing eclectic fanbase through the release of an extended 14-track EP featuring some 8 exclusive tracks plus 5 bonus remixes! Starting off with one of the album’s highlights, “Connecting The Dots”, an explosive dancefloor friendly showdown evoking the sounds of TUBULAR BELLS meeting THE WILD WEST, this EP plunges us at full speed into a technoid futuristic soundscape for the ultimate cyber-heads. Fast paced, techno driven hardstyle tunes full of oomph and oontz that once again show the duo pushing the musical boundaries of listeners’ minds…

As always with these unpredictable enfants terribles, this new EP also has its more melancholic and almost pop fuelled elements with songs like the uplifting and moody “NoWhere”, the catchy dance tune “Forbidden Dreams”, the unique slow burner “lost In Space” or yet the experimental psy-trance effort “Never Part”…

Add to this the very diverse remixes by ALKEMIC GENERATOR (with a radio friendly guitar infused retake featuring additional female vocals), the straight EBM act VV303, the synth driven ANTIBODY or yet the thunderous dancefloor energy of CAUSTIC and their characteristic fusion of hard EBM meets industrial techno dance.

The perfect end of year release for the ultimate dancefloor moments in our cyberworld…

The cutting-edge duo of STUDIO-X vs. Simon Carter serves us their second album taking us at full speed on a hi-energy futuristic journey through the star systems…

While the release of their recent appetizer-EP “Dance With Me ‘Dance With The Devil’” might have made us expect a harsher and darker EBM/industrial album than its predecessor with its hard-hitting dark dancefloor feel and harsh male vocals, this new full length release also nicely reminds us that the collaboration between UK artist/DJ Simon Carter and Australia’s trance dance studio guru Lawrie Masson is above all based on a creative eclectic combination of modern music styles guided by a straight dancefloor approach.

So whilst the darker crowds will for sure love the powerful “Shooting At The Stars”, the true hard-dance/industrial cross-over track “Lies”, or yet the thunderous upbeat techno-EBM track “Your Solar Eclipse”, the duo also dares to explore more commercial sounding arrangements accompanied by female vocals on the opening melancholic and highly emotional dance pop song “Lonely”, the upbeat dance/pop track “Stronger (Dream With Me)”, and the astounding commercial vibes of “Traitor“ all featuring the lovely voice of TRIX. Exploring deeper still, there is the potential radio-hit and highly addictive melody of “Sunrise”, the band’s most commercial electro-pop track ever written, together with the soothing, emotional EDM track “Blind” supported by hypnotizing spoken female synthesized vocals.

Other dancefloor favourites will no doubt be “Forever Alone Lost and Unknown” with its robotic vocals clashing perfectly with its futuristic sound, the uplifting well-crafted electro-dance cut “More Than This”, the straight techno track “Moving On” and its more than appropriate and wonderfully implemented samples, or yet the infectious encounter of THE WILD WEST meets TUBULAR BELLS on “Connecting The Dots” which delivers a truly explosive dancefloor experience.

Slower moments are also guaranteed by the more technoid track “The Storm Of Life”, and the catchy analogue oldskool sounding “Sacrifice Me” as well as “Whatever Next”, a jazzy little dance number with its combination of technoid sounds and melancholic female spoken vocals, is surely the perfect way to finish off an astonishingly breathtaking album.

The sound, style, complexity, multiple sound manipulations and the journey for the listener is completely unique, no one else offers this sort of emotive, powerful and danceable dark-electro music, definitely a DJ’s dream album, there’s more than something for everyone here and each and every track is dancefloor friendly. With so many electronic dance music genres covered we leave the audience asking, whatever next?! So, let’s explore this carefully crafted musical universe by STUDIO-X vs. Simon Carter and see where the journey takes us, as together we are, Ad Astra Volantis (flying to the stars)…

Hardcore fans, club fanatics and DJ’s will enjoy discovering the “Bonus Tracks” digital edition of the album (see below) revealing 5 (!!) exclusive unreleased bonus tracks augmented with some 13 additional alternative versions and remixes by artists like C-LEKKTOR, AESTHETISCHE, VENAL FLESH, PRE:EMPTIVE STRIKE 0.1, BINARY DIVISION and many more…
