Now, after a long silence, they’re back with a bang – introducing “Tear Heaven In Half,” their boldest, most unpredictable record to date.

Packed with a whopping 17 tracks, “Tear Heaven In Half” is a sonic rollercoaster, blending genres and defying expectations. From the breakneck Drum N’ Bass frenzy of “Wicked Die Alone,” the searing techno beats of “You Are The Carbon,” to the hard-rock thump of “Who The Monsters Are,” this album refuses to be pinned down. It’s raw, dark, and aggressive when it wants to be, yet somehow finds space to be punchy, addictive, and ridiculously catchy.

“Tear Heaven In Half” feels like a wild, schizophrenic ride through the future of music—where distorted metallic vocals collide with sinister synths, only to make way for massive, floor-filling anthems like “Coffin On The Dancefloor” and “Leave The Kids Alone.” Every track offers something fresh, each one daring you to dive deeper into its chaotic yet electrifying world.

And they didn’t get it alone – this album features a lineup of killer collaborations, including Alaskan IDM maestro STATIC LOGIC, Canadian cyberpunk provocateur VIRTUAL TERRORIST, and Lawrie’s own solo project STUDIO-X.

Avarice In Audio – Drowning One EP

Australia’s hidden gem AVARICE IN AUDIO are back with the next single from their forthcoming new album “Tear Heaven In Half”. Leading the charge is the dance floor driver “Drowning One”.

With a grinding bassline, tribal percussion and Gerry’s penchant for in-your-face vocals and lyrics, “Drowning One” marks a very different sound compared to “Wicked Die Alone”. “Drowning One” starts off sounding like an industrial track from the 90’s before it reintroduces itself as a stomping tour de force.

In addition to the original track, four remixes have been curated. ANGEL OF VIOLENCE remixes the track into a cinematic, frantic affair, sounding like a soundtrack to a film not yet made. VISCERA DRIP bring a classic terror EBM flavour to the song, accentuating the club night nature while SINTHETIK MESSIAH and DIRTY K both experiment with more breakbeat style tracks, but go in very different directions.

Our fierce triumvirate behind AVARICE IN AUDIO has returned with the final single from their latest album “From The Rib Of Adam”. Originally content to let the album only have one single, the incredibly positive reception to this song in particular, being played on radios and streams worldwide during the pandemic, inspired them to release one more single, to sate the appetite everyone has for this dancefloor killer.

“I Pray” started out as the very first instrumental made under AVARICE IN AUDIO, and was originally a remix for another band. Undergoing numerous rewrites over the years, with dozens of different styles/takes, it was eventually defined by the chorus, written by Gerry, and performed by Ben alongside the legendary EBM titan, ASSEMBLAGE 23.

Augmented with remixes by Alfa Matrix’s very own SYNAPSYCHE & ELEKTROSTAUB, alongside Australian EBM band ANGEL THEORY and Texan electronica project MAALCAR, this single is one of AVARICE IN AUDIO’s finest offering the perfect balance between melodic future pop and harsh distorted elektro with a modern touch.

Since the release of 2018’s “No Punishment: No Paradise” album, Australian trio AVARICE IN AUDIO have been quietly dwelling on the forthcoming, releasing only small snippets of information. We can now finally reveal the results of this silence as Gerry, Ben & Lawrie bring us their most intimate and personal record yet.

Originally initiated as a concept album based on “The Divine Comedy” by the Italian poet Dante Alighieri, this new album has since then undergone a slight overhaul in both theme and sound, but not forgetting Dante’s writings. “From The Rib Of Adam” is a fitting return to form for the trio, playing on each members strengths and building on one another to achieve a sound that is both beautiful and melodic, then transforming into aggressive and depraved without skipping a beat. A quite unpredictable and versatile sonic trademark making AVARICE IN AUDIO stand out as unique on the industrial scene with their stunning ability of writing poignant and catchy powerful aggro-tech dark elektro anthems (“Lolita Express”, “Trojan Horse…) while turning hyper catchy synth pop tunes into possessed, noir and addictive upbeat songs (“I Pray”, “Blame”…).

The instruments this time around are far more eclectic as well, with Gerry incorporating sounds from his childhood, from 8-bit leads inspired by Super Nintendo games, to pipe organs heard at churches. Lawrie and Ben once more prove a tour de force as well; they combine instrumental talents to insane degrees, ranging from angelic harmonies and blissful soundscapes, to unapologetic basslines and aggressive percussion. Vocally, the album is what you have come to expect as well, with Gerry’s screams and Ben’s harmonies complimenting the music perfectly.

Collaborations this time feature EBM/Future Pop legend Tom Shear of ASSEMBLAGE 23 on vocals, Lawrie’s own Alfa Matrix signed project STUDIO-X and a versus collaboration with Canadian experimental IDM band PSYKKLE. AVARICE IN AUDIO have assembled a combination of industrial masters and old friends from many years prior.

For fans of AESTHETIC PERFECTION, SKINNY PUPPY, FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY or yet PROJECT PITCHFORK, “From The Rib Of Adam” is the most heart-baring release to date from the Australian trio.

Avarice In Audio – Trojan Horse EP

After the release of 2018’s “No Punishment: No Paradise”, the three minds behind AVARICE IN AUDIO had been decidedly quiet in sharing new snippets of music with anyone but us at Alfa Matrix, now today we can reveal why. Featured on many different compilations of ours, but now released in its rightful place, we can reveal the first single from the upcoming AVARICE IN AUDIO album, “From The Rib Of Adam”.

“Trojan Horse” is a deeply emotional song penned and performed by AVARICE IN AUDIO’s more sombre vocalist Ben Barwick, aided in production by both Lawrie and Gerry, even featuring some sounds from our own David Chamberlain of ENTRZELLE. The song feels like a goth industrial classic, between the pulsing electronics and Ben’s melancholy-filled vocals, beguiling the listener into a false sense of security before enveloping us in the torture the song has bubbling under the surface.

Completing this teaser for the EP are two different versions of “Trojan Horse” to round it out; the “Achilles Heel” version made by Gerry and Lawrie who have reimagined the song as a Futurepop / EBM dance track, and a remix by German cyberpunks BINARY DIVISION that enforce the isolation of the original and transform it into a dystopian masterpiece. And as an exclusive bonus track, we have “Hellfire Club”, another guaranteed club hit with its aggressive grooves and crossover appeal featuring the STUDIO-X & PROZIUM gang.

This is no ordinary release from AVARICE IN AUDIO, however. Complimenting this one is their first music video, made by performance artist SHARMAN REINKE, filmed in the wilderness of Tasmania, showing the dark undercurrents that AVARICE IN AUDIO have been cultivating for so long. For fans of IMPERATIVE REACTION, AESTHETIC PERFECTION and BLUTENGEL, this release and video will leave you wanting more “From The Rib Of Adam.”

Following the release of their latest album, “No Punishment: No Paradise,” AVARICE IN AUDIO bring you the third and final EP for the album, showcasing their standout track “Wolves at the Door.” Complete with their signature industrial-electro influences, Gerry’s aggressive and pain-filled vocals, a hauntingly beautiful hook and a soaring guitar solo by their newest member Ben Barwick, this song cements their presence in the scene as a well-oiled, three-piece machine. Also featured are remixes by fellow Australians SHIV-R and STUDIO-X.

The trio have rounded out this EP with two new tracks. One is in true AIA style; an instrumental, hard dance/EBM-driven release-exclusive track, “The Dance of Albion,” bringing yet another potential gothic dancefloor anthem to the table. The final song is a new cut called “Innocent Enough,” a slow, sensual, yet still hard-hitting track that oozes influence from every release the band has thrown our way.
