After more than four decades of (re)defining electronic body music, FRONT 242 conclude their live journey with “Black Out”, the definitive final live recording of their farewell tour – spanning over 40 performances across 6 months in Europe and the USA.

Recorded at AB Brussels (Ancienne Belgique) in January 2025, in their Belgian hometown, this album captures the intensity, precision, and raw energy that have defined FRONT 242’s live performances for generations.

“It is with a heavy mix of emotion that we close this great adventure, some 40 years in the making. We realize that ending our journey at this time, when we are still vibrant and full of energy is how the band should be remembered. We are excited to share these meaningful final performances with our wonderful fans who have been with us through it all”, the band wrote when announcing their final tour.

This format of “Black Out” is released as:

FRONT 242 – Black out (+ 3 bonus tracks) 2CD digipak

FRONT 242 – Black out (chrystal clear) Double Vinyl

V/A – Sounds From The Matrix 26 CD

V/A – Sounds From The Matrix 27 CD

Marking a historic moment, the album also includes the first official releases of several new tracks the band had introduced live over recent years (“Generator”, “Fix It”, “Hide & Seek”) .

For “Black Out”, FRONT 242 members Patrick Codenys, Jean-Luc De Meyer and Richard23 are joined on stage by Tim Kroker on drums, with mixing and production handled in the studio by David Baboulis from the band SOLDOUT.

Spanning the full FRONT 242 repertoire – from early foundational cuts to genre-defining anthems – “Black Out” stands as both a powerful farewell and a final testament to the band’s uncompromising vision.

No nostalgia. No safety net.

2026 marks a historic convergence: 25 years of Alfa Matrix. 45 years of FRONT 242. And the end of the line for one of the most uncompromising forces electronic music has ever produced, the closing chapter of an uncompromising, genre-defining journey.

With “Recovery >For You< – Vol. 2”, Alfa Matrix continues its sonic tribute to the pioneers who didn’t just shape electronic music – they built its foundations. FRONT 242 didn’t follow scenes. They created the blueprint: rhythm as command, sound as weapon, attitude as identity. Decades later, their code still runs through the veins of the underground. This compilation is proof.

This 2nd volume gathers 32 exclusive reinterpretations from across the Alfa Matrix roster and its Spleen+ cold wave / post punk division. Each artist was invited to dive into FRONT 242’s vast repertoire – from iconic anthems to deeper cuts – and reimagine them through their own sonic DNA, reshaping them into something personal, something current, something alive… The result is anything but nostalgic. No replicas. No comfort zone.

From the surgical modern EBM precision of IMPLANT, CUT.RATE.BOX and AESTHETISCHE to the club-driven assaults of KANT KINO, KRYSTAL SYSTEM and KOMOR KOMMANDO (feat. THE TRUE UNION), from the poignant darkish intensity of CIRCUMPOLAR, AIBOFORCEN and NEIKKA RPM to the gothic depth of STAR INDUSTRY and LOVELORN DOLLS, from the sharp future pop catchiness of LLUMEN, THE PSYCHIC FORCE and AD:KEY to the efficient synth minimalism of ELKEKTROKLÄNGE, CUBIC and TECHNOIR, from the dark elektro intensity of ALIEN VAMPIRES, C-LEKKTOR, FRONTAL BOUNDARY and ACYLUM to the colder, atmospheric darkwave takes of THE BREATH OF LIFE and THE NAMES – the spectrum is wide, coherent, and deliberately restless. Different angles. Same source code.

Harsh industrial takes collide with cold wave minimalism, synth pop textures meet dark electro energy, while club-driven reworks stand next to more atmospheric and emotional readings. These are not covers. These are transformations – respectful, but fearless.

“Recovery >For You< – Vol. 2” is both a tribute and a continuation: a reflection of FRONT 242’s enduring impact and a reminder that their pulse still drives the underground.

Play it loud. Listen carefully.

This is transmission.

With “Recovery >For You< – Vol. 2”, the Alfa Matrix roster doesn’t look back – it strikes again.

FRONT 242 is echoing forward.

(The CD version holds 2 bonus tracks not available in the digital version)

KRYSTAL SYSTEM doesn’t come back – they strike!

With “Da Punch”, Bonnie (vocals, guitars) and N°7 (vocals, synth, sampler, guitars) confirm the new line-up featuring φ (Phi) on bass. The French trio returns sharper and more dangerous than ever, delivering a full-force statement driven by urgency, instinct, and raw authenticity. This is not just an album – it’s impact. A collision of punk-electro-metal energy, fearless inventiveness, and a distinctly French touch that refuses compromise.

Carried by Bonnie’s voice – at once youthful, fierce, and emotionally exposed – every track hits with immediate intensity. She doesn’t just sing, she inhabits each moment, shifting from fragile tension to explosive outbursts, giving flesh and blood to words that cut deep. Around her, the band operates like a live wire: real instruments slicing through electronic pressure, guitars clashing with synth layers, rhythms bending and breaking through asymmetric structures that constantly destabilize the listener. This is not programmed safety – this is musicianship on the edge.

“Da Punch” thrives on contrast and movement. At times, guitars dictate the pulse with sharp, driving force; at others, immersive synth textures pull you into darker, elevated spaces before addictive melodies tighten their grip. Elsewhere, massive electronic sequences flirt with EBM and martial industrial, pushing the intensity even further, while subtle male/female vocal interplay amplifies the band’s inhabited, almost feverish identity. Switching effortlessly between French and English, KRYSTAL SYSTEM uses language as a weapon – every word aimed, every line hitting its target.

Somewhere between FRONT 242’s militant pulse, THE PRODIGY’s explosive crossover energy and the crushing guitar force of GOJIRA or yet LINKIN PARK, KRYSTAL SYSTEM forges a sound that is both confrontational and unmistakably their own.

Lyrically, the album stands as a series of confrontations with the present. The title track “Da Punch” lands like a brutal wake-up call, exposing a collapsing world we passively witness. “Iryna’s Song” delivers a devastating tribute to innocence destroyed by both violence and indifference, echoing far beyond the personal. “Someday” and “Soleil Noir” explore solitude as strength – a conscious, combative withdrawal from external noise – while “Nouvel Age” tears into the invisible force of social conditioning with striking clarity. “Neon Cage” channels discipline and self-construction through a modern, electrified vision of the warrior’s path, “A World That Is Yours” embraces absolute, uncompromising love, and “Wonder Who” dives into the unsettling mechanics of the unconscious, questioning who truly acts when we act.

Building on the explosive return initiated by the previous EP, “Da Punch” incorporates the already hard-hitting “Éclats Rouges” and the biting “Skippy Bop,” now fully embedded within a broader, more ambitious sonic and thematic landscape. And when KRYSTAL SYSTEM takes on FRONT 242’s classic “Headhunter”, they don’t pay tribute – they seize it, reshape it, and inject it with their own volatile DNA.

This is not a comeback. This is a transformation.

No rules. No filters. No retreat.

“Da Punch” hits where it hurts – and leaves a mark.

“True Crimes” is the final LOVELORN DOLLS release shaped by Bernard before his sudden death – an EP haunted by absence, unresolved voices, and open endings. Rather than sealing a chapter, it leaves space: for doubt, for memory, for continuation.

Kristell looks back at the making of the record, the meaning we project onto art after loss, and the fragile line between preserving a legacy and allowing it to evolve. What emerges is not closure, but a refusal of silence. Kristell therefore confirmed all forthcoming LOVELORN DOLLS concerts with new line-up and decided to release this EP as a very limited edition (200 copies worldwide). She also added as bonus the very emotional song she played at Bernard’s funeral together with close friends: “Dancing At Your Funeral (tribute)”, a sort of last goodbye featuring Kristell Lowagie, Eric Renwart, Benjamin Albertani, Laura Crowe, Marja Supponen, Nicolas Brynin, Valéry Granson.

Belgium’s female-fronted goth metal pop act LOVELORN DOLLS’s haunting “True Crimes” EP features 4 original tracks where unsolved murders and ghostly whispers are turned into music.

With their trademark “creepy cute” aesthetic – somewhere between Tim Burton’s eerie fairytales and darkwave’s sharpest edges – LOVELORN DOLLS weave chilling true crime stories into gothic anthems. “Dahlia Bleeds” revisits the infamous Black Dahlia, “Velvet Little Voice” ghostly embodies JonBenét Ramsey, “The Boy in the Box” mourns America’s forgotten child, while “Call Me Your Ghost” channels the Zodiac Killer’s menace. Each track transforms tragedy into melody, where truth and myth bleed into sound, like darkwave lullabies for the restless dead.

Musically, “True Crimes” is a perfect storm: explosive guitars, haunting synths, industrial undertones, and Kristell’s distinctive vocals, shifting from fragile innocence to raw power. The band’s DNA – gothic melancholy, cinematic atmosphere, and a sharp alternative edge – evokes echoes of THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE, LACUNA COIL, MARILYN MANSON, or THEATRE OF TRAGEDY, yet remains unmistakably their own.

This release also marked a new chapter for LOVELORN DOLLS, now joined by guitarist and sound engineer Eric Renwart, who brings both visceral energy on stage and refined depth to the band’s evolving sound.

The cover artwork captures the EP’s essence: a little goth girl standing before an investigation board, piecing together crimes too big for her hands. She embodies both innocence and obsession – the same duality the music conveys, drawing us into a world of unanswered questions and spectral voices.

With “True Crimes”, LOVELORN DOLLS invite us to listen, to shiver, and to remember: four ghosts, four confessions, one gothic EP… and now to also remember a brilliant artist gone far too soon. Rest in peace, Bernard. Your art remains, and so does the mark you left on all of us.

German cult EBM / electro act DIGITAL FACTOR return with “0.8”, their most personal and concept-driven album to date.

Conceived as a tribute to the decade that shaped their sound, “0.8” dives deep into the musical and cultural DNA of the 1980s. But this is far from a nostalgic exercise. DIGITAL FACTOR transform nostalgia into a living, breathing album filled with subtle references, hidden quotes and stylistic nods to the artists and pop culture that inspired Mike Langer to start making electronic music. The first single “They Will Forget You (When You Die)” already set the tone, including a discreet nod to DEPECHE MODE’s “People Are People”…

At the center of the project stands founding member Mike Langer, joined by Gwendolyn Gaffa, now officially a permanent member of the band. Their collaboration adds a renewed chemistry that runs through the entire record – balancing emotional synth-pop textures, classic EBM energy and cinematic atmospheres.

Across the album, DIGITAL FACTOR weave together different strands of their influences: the emotional sweep of classic new wave (“Shadows In The Heart”), the sampler-driven aesthetics of 80s electronic pop (“Poor Mind”), or yet the pioneering electronic minimalism of KRAFTWERK, honored in the track “Time”.

Cinema also leaves its mark. The dramatic “Never” (feat. Franziska Haucke) channels the atmosphere of the James Bond universe, while “Darkest Hour” dives into dark sci-fi territories, and the very intimate “Feel To Little” and its iconic speech fragments from Charlie Chaplin’s legendary films.

For this album, DIGITAL FACTOR also deliberately stepped away from modern production perfection, using stripped-down setups and monophonic synths to recreate the raw textures and subtle imperfections of early electronic music.

With “0.8”, DIGITAL FACTOR bridge past and present: a vibrant electronic album packed with melodies, analog grit and a deep love for the roots of synth-driven music. A record filled with hidden details, emotional depth and the unmistakable signature of one of Germany’s enduring electro pioneers.
