Brainchild of the two Texan brothers Gary and Dwayne Dassing, MENTALLO & THE FIXER is definitely one of the most influential American electro/industrial bands of the last 20 years.

Highly emotional and complex, their music is characterized by snarling distorted vocals, hard cutting sequencer rhythms and a thunderous beat. Always projecting himself into the future, Gary Dassing has throughout his career, constantly been reinventing his sound, offering an impressive list of avant-garde electronic music releases on renown labels like Zoth Ommog, Metropolis Records and Alfa Matrix.

After a catharsis of another 5 years of silent isolation, MENTALLO & THE FIXER is now ready to delivery to their faithful “old-school” fanbase a double LP collection gathering with 17 tracks:  mostly exclusive and previously unreleased material spanning throughout the years back to 1987 until 1996. There is much from the Zoth Ommog era of MENTALLO & THE FIXER and even prior to that. “I like the demos much better, they sound more raw.”, Gary Dassing says.

Long gone is the young girl from 2003 starting a solo project and exploring her sound. What’s left in 2016 on “Paper Dolls” is a confident artist, a mature sound, and some of Jennifer’s strongest songwriting to date, all combined with explosive, ear-candy production highlighting vocals in the midst of AYRIA’s huge beats and synths.
 
Laying it all out there for listeners with lyrical themes of suicide, technology & social media, feminism, abuse, opulence, emptiness, numbness and isolation, with a hint at happiness just so you know that not all hope is lost.
 
For club songs suited for the dance floor, “Underneath The Water”, “Crash And Burn”, “Feed Her To The Wolves”, “Chameleon”, “Not Receiving”. Additionally the B-side song “From Station To Station” was created from recycled parts of the “Thalys” original song to reach new destinations city after city…

The included CD edition of the “Thalys” EP features alternative versions of the songs including stunning remixes by JONTEKNIK and NORTHERN KIND.

We will also notice within this challenging travelling conceptual project, that although all the burgundy red trains are this time departing from METROLAND’s homeland capital Brussels, the digital version of the “Thalys” EP gets released in 3 different language versions according to its final “download” destination, with a French version for the “Paris” edition, a German version for the “Düsseldorf” edition and a “London” edition in English for the rest of the world… Die-hard METROLAND collectors will nevertheless find their way around these territorial frontiers and embrace all 3 versions thanks to Alfa Matrix’s official space-travelling Bandcamp machine alfamatrix.bandcamp.com .
